Black Grunge Photomatix Preset

This is a preset I created for Photomatix. I call it Black Grunge for obvious reasons.

For some photos, it's ready to go. Just select it and process it.
For some other shots, it may need some tweaking, as it's a little strong.

Usually when post-processing with this preset, I dial back the strength in Photomatix or use the selection tool to replace the "too strong" parts with an original photo, or in some of my more complex pieces, process the image two or three times, then combine the results in Photoshop.

Purchasing this resource gives you permission to use the resulting images for any use, commercial or otherwise. You are forbidden from reselling this preset or offering it for free here or elsewhere.

(Full disclosure: The after photo on the left is actually a four-exposure shot combined in Photomatix. The before photo is just one frame. When shooting HDRs, always make sure to shoot several exposures to get the best looking image. The rest of the preview pictures are one exposure, straight from Photomatix photos with no post-processing)

To Install this Preset:
1) Open and extract the preset somewhere
2) Install Photomatix and run it, if you haven't done so already
3) Open up a file for processing and Tone Map it.
4) When the tone mapping page appears, drop down the box in the Presets pane, and pick "Import Presets ..."
5) Find where you unzipped the preset and open it
6) Enjoy Black Grunge!
