Well I went with the first design of my cards, but here is a quick mockup of what transparent cards would probably look like.

I'm not a huge fan of how the cards look in reverse, but putting a white box behind the text sort of killed the edge, so I omitted it.

Your thoughts on this revision?

hi

maybe you're interested in doing business cards in exchange for a link to your site?

What sort of traffic would this link generate? I'd rather be paid for my services, but if the link would have enough traffic, I might reconsider

the reverse view is probably the biggest down side of a transparent card but...its just so cool! id certainly pay it attention if i was handed one

That's what I (and a few others) thought as well. I suppose there are more designs I could have on these cards, but the others I tried (including the white strip to prevent the text from showing through) kind of killed it.

So I've ordered 200 of the first design and will continue to look at the transparent cards. You can get metal cards that are made from aluminium, but I wouldn't want to pay $6 AUD per card (compared to 40c per card for the plain ones!). The do look cool though, as they are cut to any shape and can even have holes in the middle like a grill!

Thanks for the feedback :)
