dAHack BETA 1 - Application by Grayda dAHack BETA 1 - Application by Grayda
dAHack2 is coming soonish.. dA really needs to learn how to use the ID attributes for tags. It would make my life SO much easier.. damn you dAv5!!
Stop! This is not really a hack. It's more of a way to manipulate your dA homepage for fun. Read on to learn more

Note: This is NOT a permanent page changer. This is a temporary page changer that is useful for screenshots and for fooling your friends. It is NOT hacking, but editing a COPY of your page, on your computer. It cannot in any way change your REAL dA page

Note: :bulletred: If you get a message about outdated files, download [link] that file, and it should run correctly.. hopefully. The next version will run without dependencies :bulletred:

Ever wanted to be an admin at dA? or wanted to have 999,999,999 pageviews and have a $ next to your name? Well you can't, but you can make it look like you have.

Introducing: dAHack! This program lets you load up your deviantART homepage, and change your username, pageviews, number of shouts / deviations / scraps etc. you have, without getting in trouble. This program written by me lets you grab a copy of your dA page, and temporarily change your username, 'deviant since', scraps, staff merits etc. When you reload your dA page, everything is back to normal. This is FANTASTIC for screenshots, fooling your friends, getting the elusive 50,000 pageviews without actually having people visit your site.

This is dAHack, the most fun you can have with your dA page :)

This was written in Visual Basic 6.0, and comes as a full installer, at 1.29mb big. Install, load up your dA page, and start messing around! Here is what you can change in Beta 1 of dAHack:

:bulletblue: Your username
:bulletblue: Your real name
:bulletblue: Deviant Since
:bulletblue: Pageviews (Fixed a bug that prevented subscribers from changing pageviews)
:bulletblue: Located in
:bulletblue: Last Visited
:bulletblue: Stats (eg. Member, admin etc.)
:bulletblue: Deviations
:bulletblue: Scraps
:bulletblue: Deviation Comments
:bulletblue: Number of comments received
:bulletblue: news comments
:bulletblue: Forum posts
:bulletblue: Journal entries
:bulletblue: Shouts
:bulletblue: Favourites
:bulletblue: Your Avatar
:bulletblue: "Is Currently" emote
:bulletblue: Give yourself a staff merit!
:bulletblue: Your type (eg. is deviously deviant)
:bulletblue: Create or modify a subscription date
:bulletblue: AIM user details
:bulletblue: MSN user details
:bulletblue: ICQ user details
:bulletblue: Yahoo user details
:bulletblue: Change your site button
:bulletblue: Change your gender
:bulletblue: Menus restructured and an 'about' box added
:bulletred: Add art to your gallery (eg. Daily Deviation tab of your gallery) (Note BUG1) :new:
:bulletred: Add new watchers (Note BUG2)
:bulletred: Clicking "Select A New Page" will no longer remove your changes immediately (Updated)
:bulletred: You can now manually edit your own dA page, so you can do things dAHack can't ;) :new:

And coming soon:

:bulletpurple: If the above items don't exist, will be created
:bulletpurple: Menus will be removed, and replaced with an easy to use drop-down box system
:bulletpurple: Save your creations as a screenshot
:bulletpurple: Add your own custom items
:bulletpurple: A LOT of bugfixes, coz I know there is bound to be a few
:bulletpurple: deviantART user-toolbar editor, which will let you edit your "General, Gallery, Scraps" toolbar with a 'wysiwyg' format
:bulletpurple:

BUG codes and explanations:

:bulletgreen: BUG1: When art is added to the gallery, the pixel-thick line at the bottom of the gallery is not drawn properly, will fix that next release
:bulletgreen: BUG2: Watchers are added right to left, so inserting 1 watcher will add them to the RIGHT of your watchers list. Looking into fixes for that

And there's more on the way!

Warning. This is a beta release. It does work, but is prone to crashes and things like that. This is designed NOT to hurt your computer, but I won't be held responsible if something does happen. This tool is NOT endorsed by dA, and is NOT to be used for cheating in competitions, fooling people into believing that you are an Administrator or whatever. It is designed for fun, hence the category "Devious fun". Report any bugs here, but please don't request new features. dA's HTML layout is not the greatest for working with, but I am doing what I can with my spare time, and will add new stuff when I stumble across it. Basic HTML knowledge is required for a few sections of this application. You can survive without knowing it, but it helps..

Any questions can be posted here, or noted to me. And NO, I will NOT code something for you.. Everyone asks me that, and I tell them no. Not even for money (unless it's a hefty sum)

I would actually recommend downloading dAHack 2 as it's dAv5 compatible. But you can still sorta use this one. Just run setup.exe to install it like any other program. Find dAHack in the start menu and run it. Type in the location of the page you want to mess with (in this case, [link] ) and explore the menu "Page Changes" to see what you can do. Not everything works because of the move from dAv4 to dAv5, but dAHack 2 works with dAv5 and you can make your own hacks to use :D

Sorry about that. The link is still down because I had to move servers last year and lost all my data. However dAHack 2 is available, and the download link still works:

[link]

dAHack BETA 1 doesn't work any more anyway, because of the move from dAv4 to dAv5. But dAHack 2 works great, and you can make your own hack sets :D

I guarantee it won't get you banned, but I most certainly won't guarantee it's workings. Since dAv5 came in, this program has been mostly broken (save the manual HTML editing part). When I get off my backside, I'll continue dAHack 2, which will have support for "plugins" (ie. you can add more things to 'hack'), and fully support dAv5 from the word go. Until then, don't hold your breath :P

But thanks for downloading, and I hope all goes well for you :)

Thanks! Doesn't work with dAv5 at the minute, but I'm working on that, making it into a user-extendable program, where people can make their own "hacks" with only a little bit of knowledge. The manual edit does work however, and can be lots of fun to mess around with.

Thanks again, and awesome journal header btw ;D

Unfortunately, it doesn't. However, I'm working on dAHack5, which will be dAv5 compatible. However, it's coming along very slowly. That's because of a bug (I think), in the IE control I'm using. With some experimentation, I think I can get something up and running. The new version will use a kind of "Plugin" system, where if something isn't supported, you can add it yourself with one line in a text document. I should get working on it, because there seems to be rather high demand for this lately..

But thanks for the comments! I'll try and get things working soonish :)

No problem.

Although, just so you know, it DID work when I used the HTML edit. (and boy, did I have fun with THAT!)

Because you were editing the raw HTML. The other half of the program used crafty (and really stupid) hacks to grab and modify text. The next version should be MUCH better, using proper ID tags and such to find and change data.. perhaps :XD:

Yeah, I know. Just stating it for people who want to use this version.

Either way, I'm really looking forward to the next version =D

i like it :) tis very clever and fun 2 -- however (this is no way trying to piss on your program cos it is pretty DAm gud) you probably do the same or simmilar thing with photoshop or simmilar program? (although it would require alot of cutting and pasting from other pages)

ps dnt hate me, to many people do already lol

Hate you? naah criticism is goood :D

You're right, however to get it looking juuust right takes a LOT of effort, and people don't always have Photoshop, so this is a quick and effective way to get things looking how you like. And it's all done at the HTML level, so things are automatically resized, and everything is taken care for you. Less time messing around, more time uploading etc. :D

Thanks for the comments :) Means lots to me :)
